Our family arrived in England in 1960. At that time I thought the war was ancient history. But if I think of 15 years ago from now, that’s 1990, and that seems like yesterday to me.

Photography can only represent the present. Once photographed, the subject becomes part of the past.

In time we hate that which we often fear.

No story is the same to us after a lapse of time; or rather we who read it are no longer the same interpreters.
